When Obama orders federal troops to help in Iraq, GOP leaders call it ‘political suicide’

Republican leaders on Capitol Hill are calling it a “political suicide” for President Barack Obama to order federal troops into Iraq.

The decision to send troops into the country is part of the president’s “Operation Iraqi Freedom” campaign.

The GOP lawmakers say the move could be an effort to boost morale in the U.S. Army.

But House Speaker John Boehner says it is “not only politically suicide,” but could “blow up” the nation and leave the military unprepared for the war against ISIS.

The Texas Republican says it’s a “game changer.”

“The commander-in-chief of the United States has declared war on ISIS, which is an act of war.

It’s a war that could blow up our entire nation,” he said.

“This is a political suicide, and it will be the greatest political suicide of our generation.”

But Iraq’s defense minister says the U to fight ISIS is “the right thing to do.”

The Iraqi government says it will continue to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
